Way to be CHAMPIONS BY DESIGN OLP! 2014 OLP Grad Nikki Nolte presented the school with a banner today for the schools’ big heart when it comes to community service and in particular, collecting pull tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Nikki is posing with our kindergarteners, who were in awe of the Central Catholic High School royalty – LOL (She is the reigning Homecoming Queen after all).
It was an exciting morning at Our Lady of Peace School! We welcomed our new 2018-2019 kindergarten! Mrs. Jessica Glenn and Mrs. Nancy DeFazio led the children in song and dance as they learned about Christ being their guide. The children were all smiles as they performed for their parents and grandparents and each left eager to return. We can’t wait to welcome them in the fall as the OLP Class of 2027
Our kindergarten made pretzels after finishing the story, The Little Red Hen. The class chose to make pretzels, instead of bread like the hen, to symbolize Jesus’ loving arms around them. They were also discussing ways that we could be good citizens and work together. A great story and an even better lesson.
Thanks, Fr. Doug, for stopping by to help us and bless our pretzels.
It’s Read WV Day! Kindergarten welcomed Fr. Doug to their classroom. He shared the book Rocks in My Pockets by Marc Harshman, a WV author.
Kindergarten was celebrating author Tomie dePaolo today. Mrs. DeFazio dressed as a sweet Italian auntie and the children made authentic Italian cookies. What a sweet lesson and memory for these children.
