Summer Reading & Math Work
3rd Grade
Summer Reading and Math Work
Each student is required to read two books over the summer. One is assigned below and the other will be picked from the summer reading list. If they do not choose one from the list, they may select another age-appropriate book. The student’s book choice must be one they have not previously read. The student is to fill out the book report form given in the packet. They will need to fill this out for both books.
I have chosen the book The Miniature World of Marvin and James by Elis and Broach for the class to read over the summer. If you feel this book is too difficult for them to read on their own, please feel free to read it with him/her. When we return to school, we will review the book and the students will take a test on the book.
Students are also required to complete the Summer Math Packet. These practice worksheets will help keep math skills sharp over the summer.
This Reading and Math packet is to be completed and turned in on Covenant Night.
Have a wonderful summer!

Teacher Biography
Mrs. Jessica Hunnell
Hi! I am absolutely honored to be your preschool teacher this year! The 2021-2022 school year will be my third year teaching at OLP. I graduated from West Liberty State College with a degree in Elementary Education. I have previously taught in a preschool in Ohio for two years.
My husband and I have two young girls. They are both currently students at Our Lady of Peace, so I truly believe in the education and Christian faith that is instilled here at our school.
I know we have a wonderful year ahead of us full of learning, laughter and growth!
A Typical Day
The Our Lady of Peace Pre-School is a wonderful part of our school family with an outstanding reputation. The program provides opportunities to help preschoolers develop a stronger, balanced foundation for spiritual, academic, and social skills. With parents and school as partners, it serves as a transition from home to school. A loving and caring atmosphere will prevail.
Our program includes: Religion/Self Esteem; Health & Safety; Reading Readiness; Field Trips; Math Readiness; Show & Tell/Sharing; Science Awareness; Music; Social Skills; Art; Motor Coordination; Group Play; Computer Skills and iPad applications; and Free Play.
The NCEA Early Childhood recommendations are followed.
Opportunities for joining with grade school students for such activities as assemblies, Christmas and Spring Show are available, and add to that family and Christian community atmosphere.
