Welcome to the First Grade class!
Our Teachers are Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Ducci.
My name is Mrs. Nancy Ducci. My family resides in Wheeling, and my husband and I have been Our Lady of Peace Parish members for 29 years. I graduated from St. John Central High School and Ohio University, where I obtained my degree in Elementary Education. Previously, I was employed at St. John Central Grade School for 39 years. There, some of my duties included: lead teacher, full-time teacher for second and fourth grades, instructor of Sacraments, and cooperating teacher for student teachers. I hold a professional certificate in religious education.
I have always taught in a Catholic school setting, and continuing this experience is very important to me.
2021-2022 begins my third year at OLP. Together, with our students, we will “Build Peace!”
Hello and welcome! My name is Melanie Miller. I am honored to be teaching first grade this year at Our Lady of Peace for the 2021-2022 school year! I grew up in Bethlehem and attended OLP from kindergarten through eighth grade, which makes this new role even more special! I graduated from WVU with a Master’s degree in elementary education. I was a resource teacher for six years at a school in Maryland. The past two years, I have worked as an intervention teacher at OLP as well as an aide in the first grade classroom. I live in Bethlehem with my husband and two children. My family and I are parishioners of Our Lady of Peace Church, and my two children attend OLP.
My main goals are to create an engaging learning environment, for students to become independent thinkers, and for them to build good character by learning more about their Catholic faith. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
