Teacher Biography

6th Grade
Candice Lewis

Welcome to the Sixth grade at Our Lady of Peace.  I hope that your summer was filled with many new adventures and special memories. I am looking forward to working with you this school year.  This will be an extremely busy year with much to learn. You will get to experience some very extraordinary things such as taking the lead and starring in the Christmas play to blasting off to Mars in search of water and other signs of life. Most importantly, you will be growing into exceptional young ladies and gentlemen.

I graduated from IUP with degrees in Environmental Planning and Elementary Education and the 2020-2021 school year will be my eighth year teaching in the Wheeling-Charleston Diocese. I live in Wheeling with my husband and our three daughters, Caitlin, Madison, and Reagan.  We also have three crazy dogs and one very elusive cat.

Mrs. Candice Lewis

All incoming 6th Grade students are required to read two books over the summer. There will be a test and a project to complete when they return to school in August.

The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt

All of the questions must be completed and turned in on the first day of school.  Students may write in the Tuck Everlasting packet.  Please complete ONE of the Project Choices from the supplemental page for The One and Only Ivan.  (Don’t forget to put your name on all of your work!)  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email.

Students are also required to complete the Summer Math Packet. Return all papers on Covenant Night in August. These papers will count as your first Test Grade in Math.
